What are the Fingerprinting methods ?
Two Fingerprinting Methods are used in practice. One is Ink-and-Roll method where all the ten fingers are rolled on ink pads and then rolled onto paper cards. The Second method is Electronic Fingerprinting where a scanner produces a digital image of the fingerprints whose quality is checked by the software. This type of fingerprinting is processed faster than the first method and it is very accurate, cheaper and effective.
What is mean by CHRI report in Fingerprint Background Check ?
A Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) Report is handed over to the authorized person after a Fingerprint Background Check is completed. CHRI is also termed as Rap Sheet, and it is delivered directly from the database of the FBI and provides Biographic information, Arrest information and Dispositions of the candidate. This information contains the full name of the applicant, date of birth, Social Security Number, misdemeanour, felonies, charges and convictions.
How detection of Fingerprints in the check works ?
The fingerprints can be detected by processing latent prints to make them visible by different light sources, laser light or using powders.
The identification of Fingerprint is based on the recognition of the pattern where the whorls, loops, ridges and arches are studied and compared with the data available.
Once the fingerprints are collected and compared, they remain with the Police department permanently in the Criminal Record whether the applicant is convicted or acquitted.
