A nationwide criminal search through the Judicial Department of the UAE consisting of a court and police search covering all emirates. This search has a 10-year scope and is run using the candidate's Unified ID (UID) Number (a six-digit number automatically assigned to anyone who enters the UAE.). The UID Number can be located with a copy of the candidate's UAE Identity Card or UAE Residence Identity Card/Visa.

Foreigners who no longer possess a UAE Residence Identity Card/Visa can provide a copy of their foreign passport.  The UID Number is sometimes, but not always, associated with a foreign passport.  If a foreign passport is provided, the researcher will use the foreign passport to locate the UID Number; however, if the researcher cannot locate the UID Number using the candidate’s foreign passport, the court portion of the search will not be completed.  This is because the UID Number is required to run the court portion of the search.  In this instance, only the police portion of the search will be run.
