Volunteers

Are you running an organization or institution with volunteers? Is your group working with volunteers, who deal with children, the elderly, the disabled, or other vulnerable members of the community?

If your answer is “yes” to either question above, then you must make sure to conduct background checks and perform screens on each and every volunteer!

Although you do not technically employ and compensate volunteers, you are responsible for ensuring that they are competent, capable, and of good moral character. This is for the well-being of your organization or institution—be it a hospital, a school, a religious group, a nonprofit, or a government entity.

With background checks, not to mention alcohol and drug tests, you will minimize the risk of accidents, untoward incidents, aggressive behavior, and even crime in your workplace or area of operations.
